The Post Graduate Department of Biochemistry at Sir Syed Institute for Technical Studies was established in 2008 with the introduction of its Undergraduate programme, driven by the vision of providing high-quality education in modern life sciences, particularly to empower students from the educationally developing regions of North Malabar. Responding to the growing demand for advanced scientific learning, the department expanded its horizons by launching its Postgraduate programme in 2023. The department aims to nurture skilled, innovative, and competent biochemistry professionals capable of meeting the dynamic demands of the global scientific, research, and healthcare sectors.

In alignment with contemporary educational standards, the department offers a comprehensive range of academic programmes under the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUUP) and postgraduate frameworks. The current course offerings include:
• B.Sc. Biochemistry Honours (Four-Year Honours Degree)• M.Sc. Biochemistry (Two-Year Postgraduate Programme)
