The Department of Commerce at Sir Syed Institute for Technical Studies (SSITS), established in 2002, is one of the institution's prominent departments offering undergraduate commerce programmes under Kannur University. Guided by the vision of promoting education and skills in various fields of commerce for the benefit of students and society, the department provides a vibrant academic environment supported by highly qualified faculty, modern teaching facilities, and well-equipped computer laboratories. The department offers B.Com Co-operation, B.Com Computer Application, B.Com Finance, and B.Com Marketing programmes, enabling students to build a strong foundation in commerce and business.

Under the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP), the department is committed to delivering quality, multidisciplinary, and skill-oriented education aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020). The curriculum provides comprehensive knowledge in accounting, finance, taxation, management, economics, banking, marketing, and business law, complemented by internships, projects, seminars, and research activities.
