World Environment Day 2026 Celebration

World Environment Day 2026 was celebrated at Sir Syed Institute for Technical Studies (SSITS) on 05 June 2026 under the global theme "Now for Climate." Jointly organized by the Biodiversity Club, NSS, NCC, Clean Campus Forum, and IQAC, the programme featured a seminar on "Climate Change and Carbon Neutrality Concept," a tree plantation drive, a Clean Campus Drive, and an environmental-themed Treasure Hunt. The inaugural session was led by Dr. Pradeepan Periyat, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Environmental Studies, Kannur University, while Dr. Siraj M.V.P., Principal, presided over the function. The event raised awareness about climate change, biodiversity conservation, carbon neutrality, and sustainable living, inspiring students and faculty to adopt eco-friendly practices and actively contribute towards environmental protection.
