My research areas include phytopharmacogancy, immunology and cell biology. I have expertise in animal cell culturing, immunology techniques, molecular biology techniques and statistical analysis of variance using SPSS. I have mentored five Master’s project students with good results.

My research focussed on the isolation of immunomodulatory biomolecules from medicinal plants. I have successfully isolated two immunomodulatory biomolecules from medicinal plants based on the Indian traditional medicinal system of Ayurveda. One of the compounds taraxerone isolated from Leucas lavandulifolia exhibited potent immunosuppressive effect. The work was published in Journal of Ethnopharmacology entitled ‘Role of Taraxerone Isolated from Leucas lavandulifolia, as an Immunomodulator’ in 2021 (https://doi.org/ 10.1016/j.jep.2021.114307).
