The Department of Economics at Sir Syed Institute for Technical Studies, Taliparamba, Kannur, in association with the Economics Club "ECONOTIZE," organized a Student Extension Activity titled "Digi Payment Awareness" on 21st March 2025. The program aimed to educate different segments of society, especially those unfamiliar with digital payments, on the advantages and usage of digital transactions. It featured live demonstrations, interactive Q&A sessions, and the distribution of informative materials to ensure effective participation and learning. The event's goal was to spread awareness of safe and secure digital payment practices, with an emphasis on inclusivity and accessibility for diverse groups, including small business owners, rural communities, and senior citizens. Through this initiative, the program focused on educating participants, promoting cashless transactions, and raising security awareness in the realm of digital banking.
