October is observed as Breast Cancer Awareness month worldwide as an annual campaign to raise awareness of this complex disease. Breast cancer being a very common disease among Indian women, Biovancia, the Biotechnology Club, declared solidarity to this campaign by organizing a handful of programs and activities to support the cause. On 19^th October 2023, a Breast Cancer Awareness Programme was organized. Dr. Khaleel K.M, Principal presided over the event. Dr. Krishnanadha Pai, Founder and President, Malabar Cancer Care Society, Kannur inaugurated the ceremony. In his inaugural address he emphasized on  the early diagnosis of the condition to enhance survival chance of the affected. Adv. P Mahamood, President, C.D.M.E.A delivered the Keynote address. Dr. Harsha Gangadharan, Medical Officer, Malabar Cancer Care Society gave an educational session on causes, signs and symptoms of the disease and methods for early detection. She urged each member of the audience to pass the beneficial knowledge they gained to maximum people possible. Mrs. Shabina K.P, Co ordinator, Biovancia, delivered the Vote of Thanks.

The students of the Department visited nearby houses and circulated pamphlets describing the signs and symptoms of breast cancer and how self testing can be done easily at the comforts of one’s home. The pamphlets were also distributed to each Department of the Institute.
