The Tourism Department of Kerala organized a beach cleaning campaign named 'SWACHHATA HI SEVA' at Chaal Beach, Kannur, on 2nd October 2023. This initiative aimed to promote tourism and raise awareness about the importance of keeping beaches clean and pristine. 30 enthusiastic students from the Tourism Club of Sir Syed Institute of Technical Studies (SSITS) actively participated in the program. They dedicated their time and effort to clean up Chaal Beach, contributing to the beautification of the coastal area. The students engaged in various activities such as picking up litter, removing debris, and ensuring the cleanliness of the beach. Through their collective efforts, they aimed to not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the beach but also highlight the significance of environmental conservation in sustaining tourism. At the culmination of the event, the participants were recognized for their hard work and commitment to the cause. They were awarded certificates as tokens of appreciation for their contribution to the SWACHHATA HI SEVA campaign. Overall, the beach cleaning campaign served as a meaningful initiative to instill a sense of responsibility towards environmental stewardship among the youth while promoting sustainable tourism practices in Kerala.
