Gender Awareness Programme

The Women Development Cell of Sir Syed Institute for Technical Studies, in association with the Government of Kerala Women and Child Development Department – Hub for Empowerment of Women (SANKALP), organized a Gender Awareness Programme on 27th January 2026 (Tuesday) at 2:00 PM in the Mini Auditorium.

The programme aimed to create awareness among students about gender equality, rights, responsibilities, and the importance of building a respectful and inclusive society. The session was handled by Mr. Unnikishnan V. R., Medical Social Worker & ICTC Counsellor, Government Hospital, Mahe, who served as the resource person.

During the session, the speaker highlighted key issues related to gender sensitivity, social responsibility, and the need to eliminate discrimination and stereotypes. The interactive discussion helped students gain a better understanding of gender justice and empowered them to promote equality within the campus and society.

The programme was well-attended and proved to be informative and impactful. It reflected the institution’s commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and gender-sensitive environment for all.
